The actress passed away surrounded by her four children. On this day, many people contemplated the life of Elizabeth Taylor and the impact that she had on movies and pop culture in general.
While Taylor was revered for her acting skills (she won two Oscars for Best Actress) she was probably even more well-known for her scandalous personal life, her striking beauty and her sometimes bizarre behavior. And now that Taylor has passed away and left a palpable hole in the world of popular culture, which young Hollywood starlet will step up to fill her salacious shoes? Let’s take a look at a few likely candidates.
Britney Spears
There are many similarities between Britney Spears and Elizabeth Taylor, even though they might not be apparent right away. Elizabeth Taylor was also made famous because of her striking beauty. With her dark hair, violet eyes and voluptuous figure, many people refer to Taylor as one of the most beautiful women in history. Some people have compared a young Taylor to present-day starlet Megan Fox. Megan Fox, who rose to fame in 2007 after starring in ‘Transformers’, often garners attention not because of her acting skills, but because of her exotic beauty. Taylor and Fox have the same dark hair, the same mysterious eyes and the same constant presence in tabloid magazines. Will Fox’s beauty prolong her career over the decades as it did for Elizabeth Taylor? Or will her mediocre acting skills make her career fizzle in the next few years?
Miley Cyrus
You can also compare Elizabeth Taylor to Miley Cyrus in terms of child fame. Taylor’s career began at the young age of 9, when she starred in the film ‘There’s One Born Every Minute’. She continued starring in more films during her teenage years, cementing her status as a child star. Another present-day star who experienced a considerable amount of fame at a very young age is Miley Cyrus. Cyrus started in the Disney Channel television series ‘Hannah Montana’ at age 11, propelling her to instant fame. Since that time, Cyrus has become one of the most recognizable faces on the planet, starring in feature films and releasing several top music singles. Just like Taylor, Cyrus saw fame very young.
