Television Critics Association Awards Nominations 2010

The Television Critics Association Awards nominations for this year are led by freshman ABC comedy Modern Family, with five nominations. Modern Family actors Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet received nominations for their individual performances. The popular first year FOX show Glee followed closely behind with four nominations, including best new series, best comedy, program of the year and individual performance by Glee’s Jane Lynch. AMC also garnered four nominations for its drama Breaking Bad, with best drama and program of the year nominations along with well-deserved performance nods for stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.

Community was not nominated and should have been, a great comedy show with terrific ensemble performances, especially by Joel McHale and Danny Pudi. Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris has been incredible this season as the DEA agent fighting his own demons, it is a top notch performance that deserves an award. I was pleased to see nominations for Nick Offerman, who is hilarious in every episode of Parks and Recreation, and Katey Sagal for her stunning work in Sons of Anarchy.

The Television Critics Association Awards celebrates the picks of the nation’s top television critics. The awards will be given out on July 31.

A newcomer named Andrea attends the NA meeting Jesse is at. Jesse finds out Badger and Skinny Pete don’t have the guts to talk the addicts at the meeting into buying Jesse’s meth. Jesse tells the guys he will show them how its done by talking the new girl Andrea into buying product and proceeds to chat her up.

Skyler invites Walt to dinner. Walt Jr. asks his parents about a Mustang since he will be getting his license soon. When Walt Jr. leaves the table, Walt hands over a check for Hank’s medical bills to Skyler, who asks how clean the money is, insisting it must not be traceable. Walt tells Skyler he has a guy who launders the money, but Skyler insists on meeting Walt’s connection for laundering money. The next day Walt takes Skyler to Saul’s seedy law office. Saul’s flirting makes a bad impression on Skyler, who is not impressed with the way Saul talks down to her. Saul tells Walt and Skyler his latest idea for Walt’s money laundering is for Walt to invest in a laser tag business. Skyler is adamant that laser tag is not a believable business for Walt to be involved in as a cover for the money laundering.
