30 Rock Season 4 Episode 19: Argus

Liz and Pete wonder about Jenna’s happy, peppy attitude and ask her what’s going on. Jenna admits she met someone who makes her happy. Liz and Pete are worried when they remember other relationships of Jenna’s that have crashed and burned, with the staff taking the brunt of Jenna’s crazy in the aftermath.

Jack inherits Don Geiss’s pet peacock, Argus and thinks Don’s soul may be inhabiting the bird. As Liz talks to Jack, Argus hangs over her shoulder checking her over. When Argus brushes her with his wing, Jack tells Liz Argus has marked her as his “wife.”

Grizz announces to the TGS staff that he is getting married. Liz is already bummed out by the tiny bridesmaids dress she has to try to fit into for Cerie’s wedding. Grizz wonders how he can tell Tracy he wants Dotcom as his best man instead of Tracy, and asks Liz to help him tell Tracy the news. When Liz tries to tell Tracy he can be the lead singer instead of best man at Grizz’ wedding, Tracy insists he will be best man instead.

The Office Season 6 Episode 23: Body Language


Jim and Pam are getting ready to do their first sales pitch to Michael’s crush Donna, the bar owner. Pam makes stupid puns to gear up for the meeting while Jim cringes at her bad jokes. Michael introduces Jim and Pam to Donna as “The Wonder Kids” and sends them on their way to the meeting about printers.

Dwight walks in to hear Gabe trying to convince Darryl to join Sabre’s Executive Minority Training Program. Dwight thinks he should be eligible for the program so he can move into upper management. Dwight does not like the idea of Darryl being head of the company some day, so he devises a plan to talk Kelly into joining the program.

Michael interrupts Jim and Pam’s meeting with Donna to present a slide show of business information along with photos of himself and other GQ looking guys to convince her he is as appealing as they are. Michael tries to kiss Donna and she pulls away. The rest of the office staff tell Michael to stop coming on to Donna. Pam encourages him to approach her again, speculating if she was put off by Michael she would have left by now. Michael decides to try one more time with Donna.

Community Season 1 Episode 20: The Art of Discourse

Jeff and Britta are hanging at the Greendale cafeteria when three high school teens torment them about why they are so old and at college, they want to avoid making their same mistakes. Jeff tries to ignore the brats while Britta takes it personally.

In study group Pierce plays his guitar badly as the group cringes. Abed picks up Pierce’s guitar and smashes it on the table, then references his Quintessential College Experience bucket list and the movie Animal House. Jeff approves of the movie reference. Troy offers to help Abed with his bucket list and Abed promptly pants Troy. When Troy pants Abed back, Abed thanks him because it is one more item to cross off his bucket list. Pierce gets into the swing of things by pantsing Shirley, which horrifies the study group and upsets Shirley. Pierce refuses to apologize to Shirley and she threatens to leave the group. The study group sides with Shirley and kicks Pierce out of the group.

30 Rock Season 4 Episode 18: Khonani

Jack tells Liz he is prepared to lock himself in his office with no distractions so he can choose which woman to date, Nancy or Avery. Jack has taken anything that might sway him or take his interest in a different direction out of his office.

Liz is walking down the street on a Thursday night when she sees her office staff in a bar having an after hours party without her. Liz can’t believe they didn’t invite her because she thinks she is a fun person too. Liz seeks Jack’s advice and he tells her not to take things personally, no one wants to hang out with the boss. Jack invites Liz to have a drink with him, but Liz is still fuming. In the writers room Liz asks sarcastically how everyone’s evening was the night before. Liz is ready to launch into a tirade when Cerie interrupts her, asking her and Jenna about putting together a bridal shower that week before she gets married. Liz wants to prove to the staff she can throw a fun party. Liz tells the writers and Jenna she plans to throw a bridal shower for Cerie and that their attendance at the party is mandatory.

The Office Season 6 Episode 22: Secretary’s Day

Pam is back at the office after maternity leave, she is missing the baby already but adjusting to her office work schedule. Pam looks at her baby’s framed picture on her desk wistfully.

Oscar shows the office staff a video he made of Cookie Monster from Sesame Street using Kevin’s voice. Everyone laughs hysterically as they watch the video since they all agree Kevin talks like a muppet. Kevin walks into the room and feels hurt. Kevin tells Gabe, the consultant from Sabre, about the incident and he decides to show the office staff who’s boss by taking matters into his own hands. When Gabe tells the staff no mocking is allowed, they ignore him.

Andy has big plans for Erin for Secretary’s Day. Andy wants Secretary’s Day to be special for his girlfriend, so he talks Michael into taking Erin out to lunch. Erin wants to go to a fancier restaurant which Michael doesn’t want to go to, but through Andy’s prodding, Michael agrees to take Erin there. Michael thinks Erin is a bit of a bumpkin and their conversation in the car is awkward at best.

30 Rock Season 4 Episode 17: Lee Marvin vs. Derek Jeter

Liz signs up for singles activities begrugingly in order to meet the man of her dreams. Jenna offers to join Liz at the singles activities. Jenna suggests Liz get less aggressive playing dodgeball after she bounces the ball off of a guy she is interested in. Jack has plans with Avery to go to a party that night. Jack’s plans are blown when Nancy arrives unexpectedly to visit Jack. Nancy is divorced from her husband and ready to start a relationship with Jack, asking if she can take him out for his birthday the same night that the party is scheduled. Jack tells Nancy he has an event he has to attend but will meet her at her hotel room for drinks afterwards. When Jack asks Liz who she’d rather date, Lee Marvin or Derek Jeter, Liz tells Jack Lee Marvin of course. Liz tells Jack he has to decide between Avery and Nancy but Jack thinks he can juggle the relationships until he decides who he should be with.

Toofer finds out the only reason he was hired at TGS is because of affirmative action. Liz admits Toofer was hired for a diversity quota and Toofer decides to quit. Jack meets Nancy at the hotel, Nancy is so tired from sightseeing she asks Jack if they can have a raincheck in the romance department and instead hang out watching movies and drinking beer. Jack gets cosy with Nancy until Avery calls telling him he has to meet her at Derek Jeter’s after-party. Jack makes up an excuse, leaving Nancy at the hotel and heads to back to Avery. Jack and Avery have dinner the next night for Jack’s birthday and their age difference comes up in their relationship. Avery gives Jack his birthday present, the cufflinks that Ronald Reagan wore when he was buried. Jack is touched and amazed Avery could get Reagan’s cufflinks. Nancy meets with Jack and gives him his birthday gift, a box of salt water taffy in their favorite flavor which touches him, reminding him of their days together in Boston.

Community Season 1 Episode 20: Contemporary American Poultry

Jeff tries to rush the Spanish Club along so he can get to the cafeteria on time for chicken fingers. Hoards of students start running out of the building and the rest of the Spanish Club follows, leaving vegetarian Britta behind. Jeff and the Spanish Club get online for lunch and just as Jeff and Pierce are being served the cafeteria runs out of chicken fingers. Annie, Shirley, Abed and Britta wait at a table for Jeff and Pierce to bring a pile of chicken fingers. Shirley checks a younger student with dreadlocks who she is crushing on. Jeff notices the college cafeteria always runs out of their favorite food. Jeff sees fry cook Starburns, the old-rocker cafeteria guy, is hoarding chicken fingers and portioning them out for his favored friends while the rest of the students go without their delicious chicken.

Jeff decides to take action about the chicken finger shortage at Greendale. Jeff tells the Spanish Club that they must get Starburns fired and have one of their group take over the fry station. Jeff convinces Abed, who worked in his father’s falafel restaurant, that he must take over the fry cook position so they can control the chicken finger situation. Jeff tells Britta to sweet-talk Starburns into giving her take-out chicken fingers. Pictures are taken of Starburns giving the contraband to Britta and he is fired. When posters for the fry cook job are posted around school, Shirley rips them down so Abed is the only qualified applicant. Troy interviews in a golden pharaoh helmet and garb to appear crazy and gives the world’s worst interview so Abed will appear to be the ideal candidate for the job. The Spanish Club’s plan works and Abed is hired as the fry cook for the cafeteria.

30 Rock Season 4 Episode 16: Floyd

Liz decides she needs more positive energy to help in her dating life. Liz receives a call from her ex-boyfriend Floyd, who is in town and wants to meet with her. After she arranges for them to have dinner the next night, Liz is excited about seeing Floyd again.

Frank, Toofer, and Lutz are tired of Danny, the popular new cast member. Frank, Toofer, and Lutz decide to play a prank on Danny, who falls for it. Danny complains to Jack, who knows just what to do to get back at the writers. Jack and Danny set up an elaborate ruse to get Danny’s revenge against them.

Liz turns on the TV and finds out that Floyd is in New York competing for a dream wedding on “The Today Show” with his fiancée Caitlin. Liz can hear Floyd talking during the Today Show taping right below her office. Apparently Floyd is engaged and planning on getting married right out in front of 30 Rock where Liz can hear and see the ceremony. Liz is crushed by the news and wishes she could get out of dinner tomorrow night. Jack suggests Liz seek revenge by encouraging Floyd to order fish at the restaurant they are going to, since Liz has gotten sick on fish twice there already.

The Office Season 6 Episode 21: Happy Hour

Michael is showing off his push-ups in the office and the office staff is not impressed. Michael dares the rest of the office to do twenty five push-ups. When no one seems interested Michael ups the ante so anyone who does twenty five push-ups gets to go home early. Stanley gets down on the floor and does twenty five push-ups, much to the chagrin of Michael.

Oscar wants to talk with Matt, his office crush, but can’t seem to find time to talk with him since the Christmas party. Oscar asks Darryl about having a Happy Hour meet up for the office as an excuse to be around Matt, Darryl tells Oscar its ok to like Matt. The Happy Hour plan for after work is in place and Jim tries to beg off by using the baby as an excuse. When Michael insists Jim call Pam, she screams with excitement through the phone about getting out of the house, foiling Jim’s plan. Pam decides to invite her friend Julie to pair up with Michael since Julie laughs at everyone’s jokes. As Jim, Pam, Michael and Julie play pool, Michael and Julie seem to be hitting it off. Oscar feels disappointed as he keeps waiting for Matt to show up. Darryl tells Oscar Matt is kind of dumb and not a great catch.

Dwight is sitting with Angela at Happy Hour when Pam’s cousin Isabel arrives. Having hooked up with Isabel at Jim and Pam’s wedding, Dwight leaves Angela to go talk to Isabel, leaving Angela steaming. Angela follows Dwight and Isabel around as they play whack-a-mole and the other fun games at the bar. Angela takes a moment to remind Dwight of their baby contract. After sizing up the pros and cons of Angela vs Isabel, Dwight happily releases Angela from their baby contract.

Community Season 1 Episode 19: The Science of Illusion

As April Fools Day approaches, Dean Pelton addresses the students, telling them to curb pranks on campus. Dean Pelton suggests the students pick up a College Pranks pamphlet if they have any questions about how far a prank should go. At study group, Annie reads in the pamphlet that Dean Pelton is looking for volunteer security guards during the holiday, so she and Shirley decide to volunteer as a cop team. Annie and Shirley argue who is the “baddest” of the two cops. Pierce tells the study group his Buddhist church is making him a Level 6 Laser Lotus.

Jeff decides this is an opportunity to prank Pierce by telling him a delivery person was looking for him with a package delivery from his church. While Pierce searches for the delivery person with the package, Jeff has Abed run to the theater department to find an outfit for Pierce. Abed returns with a package holding a wizard outfit with hat and robe which Pierce promptly puts on as the group laughs under their breath.

When the gang decides Britta is a buzz kill, Britta tells Jeff she is planning a prank on Senor Chang. Apparently Senor Chang is afraid of frogs so Britta plans to break into the lab room and borrow a frog to place on Senor Chang’s desk before class. She thinks a frog with a tiny sombrero that says Senor Chang is funny while Jeff thinks the prank is lame at best. Jeff finds Pierce and Troy in the cafeteria and hands Pierce another package from the delivery guy. The package contains a wizard’s wand with a cookie at the end of the wand. Jeff tells Pierce the wand will help him focus his powers and Pierce is thrilled to receive it.
