Breaking Bad Season 3 Episode 6: Sunset

A tribal police officer gets a dispatch to check on an elderly woman whose family has not heard from her recently. The police officer arrives at the home and is unable to get into the house. The officer finds a women’s body back behind the shed. The officer pulls his weapon, looking through the windows and announcing himself, and sees a man walk by the window. Men’s clothing is drying on the wash line. One of The Cousins walks out of the door. As the officer instructs the cousin to lie on the ground, the other cousin hits him from behind with an axe.

Skyler calls Walt to discuss the divorce papers she has found in the baby’s crib. When Walt offers child support money, Skyler starts talking to Walt about the drug money making her and Walt Jr. accessories to his crimes. “You’d be making us accessories after the fact,” says Skyler. “How do you think we’ve been paying our bills these last six months?” replies Walt. He hangs up and makes a deal on the fully furnished condo he is looking over, a new beginning for him.

The Cousins enter Los Pollos and sit, ordering nothing. Gus watches them carefully from his position behind the counter. The Cousins continue to arrive every day and sit at a Los Pollos table, waiting for Gus to talk to them.

Jesse shares his blue meth creation with Badger and Skinny Pete, then invites them to go into business with him again, and they hesitate. Jesse says this time we’ll “Sell it safe,” he says. “We don’t get greedy.” Jesse has Badger set up a meeting with his friend Clovis to fix up the RV while Skinny Pete procures supplies. Hank is staking out Jesse’s home and observes Badger and Skinny Pete leaving the house.

Walt drives Walt Jr. to school and they talk about Walt Jr.’s unhappiness with the new family arrangements. Walt arrives at work, his bag lunch in hand. Walt goes down to the lab and meets his new assistant, Gale Boetticher, a specialist in X-ray crystallography who has a libertarian attitude. Walt and Gale seem to work well together as they cook their first batch of meth. Gale admits to Walt he is a nerd.

As Hank continues to stake out Jesse’s house, Marie calls and encourages him to come home. Hank puts Marie off, telling her he is close to busting Jesse Pinkman. Marie tells Hank she knows someone who may know Jesse. Hank calls Walt to discuss what he knows about Jesse. Hank outlines what he knows about Jesse’s RV and his stake-out. Walt calls Saul telling him that Hank knows about the RV, “Which is covered with my fingerprints, it’s only a matter of time before he tracks it down.” “So get rid of it!” says Saul. Walt speeds to the repair yard and tells Clovis and Badger the DEA are on to the RV and Clovis must destroy it. Clovis tells Walt he has someone who can make it like the RV never existed. As Walt and Clovis discuss details, Badger calls Jesse about the RV. Jesse runs out of his house and heads to the repair yard, with an anxious Hank tailing him close behind.

Gus walks up to The Cousins and arranges to meet them to talk at sunset in a desolate location. As Walt and Clovis make the deal in the RV, Jesse runs into the RV to confront Walt. Seconds later, Hank arrives at the repair yard. “You led him right to us,” says a panicked Walt. Jesse and Walt close up the windows and curtains in the RV and hold their breath. Hank tries to break into the RV. Clovis asks Hank if he has a warrant. Hank talks his way out of the problem and gets a crowbar to break into the RV. Walt tells Jesse to say to Hank “This is my own private domicile and I will not be harassed… bitch!” Hank heads to his car and calls ASAC Merkert to obtain a warrant. Walt sees the writing on the wall and makes a call of his own.

As Hank brings the crowbar to the RV he receives a call, the caller on the other end tells Hank Marie has been in a serious car accident. As Hank drives off the property to the hospital, Clovis meets with his guy in the yard, who demolishes the RV as Walt and Jesse watch. Saul’s secretary Francesca hangs up the phone, telling Saul, “You’re gonna have to start paying me more.” As Hank runs through the hospital frantically looking for Marie, he receives a call from her and realizes he has been duped.

Gus meets The Cousins at sunset. The Cousins want their revenge with Walter White. Gus tells The Cousins he still needs Walt to work for him and he is off limits for now. The Cousins protest and Gus explains that Walt was the snitch but the DEA agent is the one who killed Tuco. The Cousins tell Gus the DEA is off limits, but Gus says “As a show of respect,” he will make an exception. “The agent’s name is Hank Schrader. May his death satisfy you.”
