The Office Season 6 Episode 22: Secretary’s Day
Pam is back at the office after maternity leave, she is missing the baby already but adjusting to her office work schedule. Pam looks at her baby’s framed picture on her desk wistfully.
Oscar shows the office staff a video he made of Cookie Monster from Sesame Street using Kevin’s voice. Everyone laughs hysterically as they watch the video since they all agree Kevin talks like a muppet. Kevin walks into the room and feels hurt. Kevin tells Gabe, the consultant from Sabre, about the incident and he decides to show the office staff who’s boss by taking matters into his own hands. When Gabe tells the staff no mocking is allowed, they ignore him.
Andy has big plans for Erin for Secretary’s Day. Andy wants Secretary’s Day to be special for his girlfriend, so he talks Michael into taking Erin out to lunch. Erin wants to go to a fancier restaurant which Michael doesn’t want to go to, but through Andy’s prodding, Michael agrees to take Erin there. Michael thinks Erin is a bit of a bumpkin and their conversation in the car is awkward at best.
At lunch Michael is chatting away and Erin asks him to tell her more about Andy. Michael opens his big mouth and tells Erin that Andy dated Angela and at one point they were engaged. Erin had no idea Andy and Angela dated and is traumatized by this news, quickly melting down at the table as Michael realizes he blew it.
Back at the office Erin is very upset. When Andy comes up to the reception desk and asks how her lunch was, Erin is cold to Andy and snaps at Oscar when he asks about the copy machine. Both Andy and Oscar are perplexed by Erin’s actions. During the Secretary’s Day party Andy arranged, he plays master of ceremonies and congratulates Angela for her fine party planning. Andy begins to sing a sweet song called “Secretary of Love” he wrote for Erin for Secretary’s Day. As Andy begins to sing, Erin takes a wedge of cake and throws it in his face. Erin melts down again as she yells at Andy for not telling her about his relationship with Angela.
After the party, Pam and Jim are still joking about the Cookie Monster video. Pam does an impression of Kevin as Cookie Monster and Gabe decides to suspend her. When Jim tells Gabe they didn’t mean anything by it, Gabe suspends Jim for talking back to him. Dwight starts clapping for Gabe’s decision and Gabe suspends Dwight for talking back as well. Dwight decides he must apologize to Gabe to avoid supsension.
Andy finds Erin in the parking lot, distraught over Andy’s deception. Andy apologizes to Erin and wants to make up but Erin thinks they should break up. Michael comes down to the parking lot, ready to leave work, and notices Erin is still there sitting on a bench. As they talk about Andy, Michael does funny voices to cheer up Erin. Andy drives out of the parking lot and see Michael cheering up Erin, bumming him out even more.
Pam and Jim discover that Gabe has no power to suspend them after Gabe calls the main office and gets reamed for suggesting they are suspended. Jim and Pam play into the suspension and take the rest of the day off, leaving Gabe with egg on his face while Dwight apologizes, bowing and kissing Gabe’s hand. Gabe tries to fit in by doing a Kevin as Cookie Monster imitation which falls flat. Kevin starts imitating Gabe and making fun of Gabe’s voice, embarrassing Gabe and making the rest of the office staff laugh.
