TV Review: The New Season of The Bachelorette
This season of The Bachelorette has started off with a bang, and the surprises just keep on coming! This season contains exotic locations, elaborate dance routines, and of course, the bad guy Bentley.
The first episode reveals that the new bachelorette is Ashley, the third runner up for the last season of The Bachelor. This was a shock to everyone! Most of the male contestants were pleasantly surprised with one sour apple, that being Bentley. This particular contender made it clear that he was to here for a different bachelorette, Emily, and that he wanted to manipulate Ashley as much as possible. The sneaky part of this is that Ashley was given a forewarning about Bentley from his ex-wife. Another shocker on the first episode was when we all got to meet Jeff, who decides that he is going to wear a mask because he wanted Ashley to get to know him for what was on the inside, his personality, rather than his appearance.
In the next episode the crew goes to Las Vegas. This escalates to Ashley and Will’s first date ending at a wedding chapel. Obviously, no marriage happened but Will was defiantly shaking in his boots. After the quick trip to the alter everyone headed over to see the Jabbawokeez with Ashley popping into their dance show. Later the guys were given the challenge to separate into two different teams and make up their own dance routines. After some more one-on-one dates Ashley gives Bentley a rose and says goodbye to two more men.
The most recent episode delivers with a roast of Ashley turning into Will making the worst joke ever with a jab at how he wishes it was a different bachelorette. This causes Ashley to begin crying only to be comforted by the cursed Bentley. However, this is only an ill-fated attempt because the next day Bentley decides that he wants to go home and not even participate in the rose ceremony. After a bout of hysterical crying, Ashley held the rose ceremony sending home the masked man Jeff and keeping poor comic Will.
With only being three episodes into the season there is already a copious amount of drama! It’s like Chris, the host, stated. In the last ten years he has been doing the show, never has there been drama even before the first limo ride. With the show moving to Thailand, the drama could only get better!
